Gupta Family - Fall Photo Session
Bright Fall Days!
Just as we thought temperatures were starting to cool down, we've had nearly a week of summer-like weather! While I'm not one to complain (I'd rather be hot than cold), it does add an interesting twist to the typical fall photo session. No sweaters or cozy outfits this time. The Gupta family took it all in stride on a wonderfully warm Sunday, not a cloud in the sky... but with a great location, we were able to capture some great family photos none the less!
The Stone Bridge at the entrance to the Manassas Battlefield National Park, just off US-29, is beautiful any time of year. That said, with the option for backgrounds and plenty of shade, it was just right for this family session. We met up in the parking lot, and knowing we were in for a 40 minute session, we set off toward the bridge for the first set. Dressed in warm colors - burgundy, ivory, and yellow along with the white of dad's shirt - the earth tones of the natural setting worked so well! The girls started to get comfortable with more natural smiles, and we were able to get some individual shots and another family pose in before the outfit change.
A quick change in the car, and the Guptas came back for some different backgrounds. I swapped my lens to my 85mm, and these photos came out so dreamy! I grouped the family, let the girls do individual photos again, and then I popped mom in with the kids, and then dad had his turn, too. We had to wait a few times to let hikers and wanderers mosey past our spot, but I think it was worth it. I love waiting until the very end to throw in a group hug and a walking pose - and Stone Bridge is such a great place to do these!
It was such a pleasure to work with a happy family - these smiles weren't pretend! The hugs and looks were real. As we walked back toward the parking lot, mom told me that she's been waiting nearly 7 years for family photos. As so many families can relate, time just goes by quickly, and sometimes the time to book a family photography session gets forgotten. It was an honor to be chosen to capture some images of you all together, and I hope these photos capture the family and are just the first in many more to come! Thank you, Guptas!
