Time Flies
I can hardly believe that it was a year ago that I met this sweet family for the first time. Last year, with a most adorable puppy in tow (Tucker), I spent time capturing three children who were shy and quiet until the very end of our session. This year, as soon as the door opened, I was greeted with chatter of little voices. Three taller and older children greeted me with ready smiles!
While Tucker stayed home this year, we all met at Morven Park for the annual holiday photo session. Mom had been a bit worried about the temperatures, as everything changed pretty quickly after Thanksgiving this year. She came prepared with coats and bribes, and we worked everything in without any complaints about the chill in the air at all!
We started near the reflecting pool, which is just beyond the parking lot. After a few different poses of the kids together, I snapped some of each individually while they marveled at the large magnolia seed pods that were all about the grounds. All warmed up, we moved beyond to a wider space with some evergreens and a bench, and with some candid shots in mind, I let them run around a bit. When asked, they quickly moved to the bench for some photos together, and then we did a second round of individuals (and everyone wanted to go first!) before our last candids at a set of steps back. Silly poses, pretending to be airplanes, and playing telephone were such fun ways to wrap up our time together!
While it was a chilly day, our session really did fly by - quick and easy despite the temperature. It was a pleasure to see how the kids had grown over the last year, and to catch up a bit with mom, too! I hope you all have the merriest Christmas!
