Senior Session - M
A National Event
For this senior, the backdrop of her high school career was set in the heart of Washington, D.C. at the National Cathedral School. As a first born, Mom wanted to capture this moment with some senior photos at the namesake of the school - the National Cathedral - which is adjacent to the school grounds. We met up on a Sunday afternoon, the weather warm and sunny with a small breeze, and very little crowds to contend with in the background.
For Molly, high school was a unique experience with smaller classes at the all-girls school. She's an athlete, which shows in her strong stature. We chatted a bit between the two of us while Mom gave us some space, taking photos in front of the church facade and up near some of the beautiful wrought iron doors. With so few tourists, we didn't have to work in between groups or unintentional photo-bombing - a gracious gift amidst the city's bustle.
After, we walked over to the Bishop's Garden, talking with Mom, who is clearly very proud of her daughter and the next steps she will be taking this fall. A hidden gem, the garden is full of pathways, greenery, and a beautiful section of roses. Here, we encountered more people enjoying the beauty and walking the grounds beneath the towering cathedral. As Molly had done prom photos here earlier in the year, I let her take the lead in the spaces we selected for backgrounds. The gardens didn't disappoint, as we spent the second half of the session here, capturing some beautiful images of this sweet senior among the florals.
I wish you well in your next endeavor, Molly - I hope that these photos give you something to look back on as you enter a new season of life as a college student! Congratulations!
