Rosy Cheeks & Giant Smiles
This session made me crack up laughing a few times! With 3 littles under the age of 7, this mama had her hands full when she came to me looking to book a holiday session for this year's Christmas card. We were able to work around some sickness and schedules to make a quick 20 minute session in Sterling at the scenic Claude Moore Park on a rather "warm" Sunday this December.
If you have your own children, you know how difficult it can be to get one to look at a camera and smile. Sometimes when it's for a parent, the task seems impossible (I know - I have a squirmy 2.5 year old myself!). This was the goal for our session - get all the kids looking and smiling. And in between some candy bribes, talking about their "Elf on the Shelf" Fizzy and his antics, and questions about what they want for Christmas (a horse came up... "A real one!), we caught some individuals of these adorable faces and personalities, too! Just take a look at those sweet smiles, and the rosy cheeks from all the running about at the park - tooooo cute!
It was an honor to be able to work with this family - to know that sometimes, a mama just needs someone else to come in and help out with one of the many tasks on the holiday to-do list. I had the privilege of meeting Stripe, the lovey for the middlest child; I got to let the oldest daughter be a princess for a few minutes (she's a big helper at home); I made silly faces and sounds and all sorts of goofy things, and it was a pleasure. We even brought in the family pooch for a few photos!
It is my hope that these few short moments of time, even if they feel rushed or frazzled with all the antics, produce an end result that is truly a standstill in life. I hope that these precious children's photos are ones that hang on a wall, get sent out on Christmas cards that hang on relatives' walls, and are looked back upon with fondness by their mom and dad. Merry Christmas to you all!
