Welcoming a New Year: 2023 Updates
Happy New Year!
As we enter into 2023, I find myself grateful for the clients who chose to reach out to me in 2022. As a new small business owner in the Northern Virginia area, entering into the family photography arena was a bit daunting. There are LOTS of photographers around here, with varying price points, specialties, and many who have been around long enough to have earned a robust and loyal clientele. For those families who allowed me the privilege of photographing you, your children, your birthday parties, and special images for your life, "Thank you!" Your trust in me to capture a moment, tease out the smiles, and enjoy a hassle-free photo session together means so much!
2023 Pricing Updates
It's no surprise that costs are still going up - inflation has hit hard! The good news is that, in general, I don't need to significantly raise my prices this year. I am, however, restructuring my pricing to better serve you. Families need options that are flexible, especially when it comes to the littlest clients. Note that I am now offering "in-home" session options for families and business headshots. This includes a portable backdrop (with options you can pick ahead of time) and studio lighting.
Family/Children Sessions - Outdoor* or In-Home**
Mini - up to 20 minutes - $150 - 10-15 images
Regular - up to 40 minutes - $225 - 20-35 images
Extended - up to 60 minutes - $300 - 45-60 images
Business Headshots - Outdoor* or In-Home**
Single High-Resolution Image - $75
3 High-Resolution Images - $125

Senior Portrait Sessions*
20 Min Session - 1 outfit, 1 location - $200
45 Min Session - 2-3 Outfits, 1 location - $550
75 Min Session - 2-4 Outfits, 2 locations - $700
Wedding Packages
4 Hours - $1500
6 Hours - $2500
8 Hours - $3500
*Travel fee of $30 if locations are more than 20 minutes away; $50 for more than 40 minutes away.
*Travel fee of $100 for more than 1 hour of travel for wedding locations.
**In-Home Set-Up fee of $20; requires 10 mins to set up before session and 10 mins to tear down after.
Referral Program
I truly value my clients! As a thank you for working with me, I always offer my Referral Program. If you personally refer someone who books and completes a session with me, I send you a 10% off certificate for your next session!
Here's how it works:
1 - Share with friends, co-workers, and family about your positive experience and photo session with Megan Hilton Photography. This one's easy - tagging on social media, in conversation with others, or any way that it comes up!
2 - Tell interested friends to "name drop" you as a referral when they book with me. "Suzie Q referred me to you after her session!"
3 - Once your referred friend's session is complete, I'll send YOU a 10% off certificate good for your next photo session with me. Certificates are good for a year from the issue date.
My hope for 2023 is to continue to grow alongside you and your families - to partner with more NOVA and Loudoun County neighbors, to find new faces in Northern Virginia, and to deepen my relationship to you and yours. May this be a year marked by joyful celebration and the small moments of peace.
