Warm Days, Warm Smiles

Claude Moore Park has a special place in my photography journey - it was the first location I used for photo sessions when I began my photography business a few years ago! Alongside Heritage Farm Museum, this park boasts walking trails, a fishing pond, fields and shelters for picnics, and some historical buildings, too! All in all, the location works so well, with natural backdrops, great buildings with steps, barns with a rustic feel, and plenty of space. I often see a few other photographers while I'm shooting, too! For the Ruck Family, it was a perfect selection this fall. We met up and walked just a short distance to all of the locations during our 20 minute session, which works well for short attention spans with little ones.

I've been blessed to photograph this lovely family a number of times over the past year or so, and watching the girls grow and interact is so much fun! I remember a year ago when the youngest barely smiled for the whole session, very serious and aware of all the tactics I tried. This time, I was graced with HUGE smiles, and these sisters giggled their way through the session (along with some help from mom and dad behind me)! It's the beauty of having you and your kiddos recognize me each time we connect and the relationships that can be built with you as clients that have a twofold effect: (1) you all feel more comfortable throughout the session, and (2) we get quality smiles, which make for memorable photos. I love learning your names and chatting with you between poses just as much as I love looking through the lens to see a memory about to be made.

In the 20 minutes we spent together, the Rucks let me snap photos both posed and candid, with hugs and kisses along the way. I enjoyed watching the girls run from one place to another, exploring and living life to the fullest at each turn. It's these moments of real life that I can capture alongside the more "traditional" family photos that bring smiles to your faces, and sometimes a laugh, too! I'm so grateful for clients who trust me with their family memories, and that you let me catch a glimpse into your lives every so often as we partner for these moments. Thank you, Ruck Family!
