Kleimann Family - Extended Fall Session
The More We Get Together...
...the happier we'll be! Or so the song goes. This extended family session with three generations was all the goodness of getting family together. Reschedules and shifts in date and time as we worked around jobs, sickness, and location alongside shortening days and daylight savings time. Good-natured ribbing and teasing, some people running a few minutes behind, and some inside jokes. These are the pieces that make it all real - how your family fits together. I was so glad to see the genuine smiles surrounding each family group as we spent time together capturing some memories!
Pao and her family were my very first clients when I first started photographing in July of 2022! At the time, it was just her and the two boys, and a third one on the way. We braved a humid day and gnats last year, but this time, with the cooler fall temperatures upon us, we had gorgeous colors and a significant lack of bugs! We met up along the walking path behind Clyde's Willow Creek Farm in Broadlands, VA with just enough daylight left. Along with her two sisters' families and her brother, Pao's mom and dad joined in for a multi-generational photo session. We captured each family, the whole group, and even split up into guys and gals before grabbing a few of just the little kiddos, who were much more interested in going to hockey and eating chocolate than smiling for the camera. Even still, there's a genuineness about these pictures that is heart-warming.
It can be a challenge pulling together a family - and moreso when you're juggling work and kids and extracurriculars! Everyone pulled together for the evening, and I think the results speak for themselves! It's a beautiful collection of family in all its groups and forms, with smiles and side-long glances, little wiggles, and group hugs. Thank you for letting me work with you again, Pao and Scott, and I look forward to seeing everyone again and watching these little ones grow!
