The Littlest Love
Celebrating Valentine's Day can bring about all kinds of feelings for us adults. Having to remember to buy a card or chocolates or flowers; planning an elaborate meal or getting reservations for a special place; all the various ins and outs of relationships and having someone to celebrate with. One thing can remove some of these attributes: a bundle of love. Little Lucy gets to spend her first Valentine's Day as a chubby 4 month old, basking in the love and adoration of all who meet her! I was so excited when her mom contacted me to do a Valentine's Day mini! With a few texts, we sorted out a date, location, and an outfit selection!
I had the honor of meeting Lucy, her parents, AND her grandparents (along with a pup who wanted in on the fun, too) - we set up in the living room of her grandparents's home. For mini sessions, one backdrop and one outfit is really all we get time for, especially with these littlest loves. The adults all got a workout trying to crack smiles and wiggle out Lucy's personality amidst the lights and backdrop. Soon enough, between Grandpa's voice, Grandma's gentle cajoling, and a few other capers, it was an impression of Miss Piggy that won the day! Lucy's chubby cheeks and big blue eyes stole the show, and everyone cooed and clapped for her and a job well done.
Sometimes, it's these simple loves: a baby's smile, some paper hearts, and a few fake flowers for color - that let the meaning of a holiday truly shine through. Lucy's light clearly gave love to all in the room during the session, and that love was echoed back by her adoring parents and grandparents alike. It was a joy - Happy Valentine's Day, Lucy - hope to celebrate more with you as you grow!
