Littlest Blessings
I secretly adore babies. Cuddling sleeping infants, watching them grow as expressions start and personalities start to grow, and gazing at the teeny little fingernails and eyelashes is a heart-filling experience! The Daniels family is part of my community - we met through small group at church when this beautiful mama was pregnant. I was so happy when they asked me to take newborn photos once little Xoe was born! I had the opportunity to meet her at less than a week old, and we set up a time from there - a date on the calendar I was looking forward to!
As a family photographer and stay-at-home mom, my photography business is more than just a "side hustle," and while it's not full time in the traditional sense, it does take up a good chunk of family and weekend time. That said, I don't have a studio nor a dedicated newborn photography "stash" full of all the props and accessories and outfits. This mama took time to find a few outfits in addition to using my wraps and backgrounds and props - and she did a FABULOUS job (so much so that I'm taking her lead to add a few of these to my collection). I brought it all to their home - the backdrops, wraps, little bed, studio lights, blankets, baskets, headbands, newborn beanbag and more. We set up in their front entrance between the kitchen and den; it was the perfect spot for a quiet session. While Xoe didn't take her normal nap right before my arrival (this ALWAYS happens for sessions - don't expect your children to do anything on a normal routine if you book photos!), she was so very cooperative throughout several outfit/backdrop changes, a family holiday pose, and all sorts of ups and downs. We did eventually get a few sleeping poses, too! The pudgy little legs just starting to fill out after the early newest-born stage are TOO much! Mama and Dad were adoring, gentle, and patient through our session, so very kind to each other and careful with their new little blessing. I appreciate the joy and the care, and I am grateful to witness the love and kindness of this family during our time together.
I look forward with joy to watching this bundle of joy grow, and to be a part of the community around her as her mom and dad work hard to keep her safe and healthy and happy! It was an honor to be a part of these firsts for the Daniels family; may you all have a blessed Christmas season with the added joy of little Xoe!
