A December to Remember
When Amanda contacted me for a holiday session in December, she expressed her desire to incorporate her new house - a first year moment, a first Christmas in a place to call home. I packed up and headed over an hour into Maryland to meet her and her adorable son for an afternoon session. She warmly welcomed me in, and we started the session just outside the front door.
We added some Christmas cheer with a few holiday props, but the joy of this session was the home - a place of their own together, just mom and her son. This four year old was so excited to tell me all about what he wanted for Christmas, and what he'd asked for from Santa! We used their front steps as a stage, capturing both the threshold to the home and the family together all at once with an oversized wreath and a few Christmas ornaments. Amanda had a few props herself - check out these cute mug toppers! I snapped some holiday themed photos, and then we took a few of just the little guy (both holiday and "normal" photos), whose birthday was that same week - talk about a busy holiday season! The end of the session wrapped up with a visit from Mufasa - an adorable bunny who is the family pet. What a cutie! Kiddo, fuzzy bunny, and hot chocolate - who could ask for more?!
It was a pleasure to spend time with this family, viewing their new place and being invited in, and getting to know everyone along the way! I hope that this holiday season brings a peace and warmth as you celebrate in your new home! Thank you, and Merry Christmas!
