All Things New
There is no better way to start a new year than with a newborn session! This lovely family welcomed me warmly into their home after scheduling ahead of a planned birth this January. I set up in the living room, complete with enough space and some additional gorgeous lighting for non-backdrop poses; I was promptly offering water as well as help setting up - a courtesy that I always love hearing (though it's usually faster for me to prepare and set up with all the cords and space and such).
As we started, the family chatted with me about options for each set of backdrops and Mom shared some ideas she had seen online. We paired all of this together and started with a most adorable little outfit that matched a pink, red, and black plaid blanket with her name on it. Baby Lauren slept peacefully as I moved her into position, and without batting an eye (literally!), we swapped her into a light pink wrap for a few natural light photos by the living room window.
The session was so seamless! From one wrap to another, various poses and backdrops, Lauren slept on. Dad revealed that they had planned a big feed and bath just before the session (good job!), and all worked so well. We pulled in Lucca and Thomas for some family photos during the session, and grandma got to be in on it, too! The boys were so precious with their new sister, jealously wanting to be the only one to hold her (so we took turns). I loved the simplicity of Mom's selections - pinks, whites, and blacks with headbands to show off the full. head of brown hair and her sweet little face.
While there was a lot of pink happening (the first girl - you know!), we tossed in a bit of mint green, some whites, and even some flowers along the way. Just as at the outset, I was offered coffee and chocolate as we wrapped up the session as well. The outcome of this extended newborn session is just too sweet! I am so thankful for the hospitality and the trust you afforded me to capture some precious moments and memories with your new little daughter.
