New Chapters in Familiar Places
Last weekend, I met the most beautiful family! They're not new to Virginia, but they've just moved back from the West Coast after a few years; as I walked into their beautiful home, boxes yet to unpack, walls waiting for artwork. I followed this brand new mama upstairs to the nursery - fully decorated and perfect for their newest bundle of joy!
Mom and Dad had prioritized the nursery for little Baby A - just a month old - with soft pinks and peaches in a bright and inviting room. I often get inquiries for newborn sessions that include bringing along a whole car-load of props, equipment and backdrops. For this one, we had agreed on a lifestyle session, and this was JUST the right room with the right kind of light for it! Sweet Baby A stayed just on the cusp of awake for her entire session as we posed and moved throughout her nursery. Some in the chair near the window, some by her crib, some with mom, some with dad. Some with a headband, some with her (full!) head of hair, some in her jammies, and some without.
I loved the softness of everything - the room colors, the plush carpet, and the way that these new parents carried their precious little girl and held her close during each moment. When we reached the end, I finally captured some wide-eyed glimpses of her sweet face, too!
The beauty of the space, of so much new ready and waiting to hold this precious new life, was captivating. The family is ready with gentle hands to hold even the littlest feet. I hope this new chapter is full of tiny moments of joy as they all settle in to their home together.
