Awaiting a Sibling
I love that the long spring season has lent time for so many great outdoor sessions, especially those in people's own backyards! There's something cozy and personal about having memories and photos in a place where you live life daily. For this lovely family, there's more love on the way!
I was met at the door and welcomed in, and then I saw the beautiful backyard! There were so many lovely spots for photos in the shade: a swing, a hammock, a wooden fence with greenery, and more. Little Josie was a bit shy at first, but we warmed up with some silly "Down By the Bay" rhymes and she came to life! With mama due in June, this maternity session was all about the sweetness of their family in the waiting. Josie is looking forward to her role as a big sister, and she cuddled up with mom right away for big hugs and kisses!
We took our time, but with all the options of the yard, some solo of mom, family photos, and a few of mom with Josie were all on the list. The two terriers also made a debut, attempting to get in the photos (and they made it into a few!). It was a casual and genuine time together. While Pan lamented the rain and wind that had ended most of her peony blooms, there were other backdrops that added just a simple sense of home that the flowers weren't missed at all. As we wrapped up, a few relocated garden decorations opened up some soil with a lovely bunch of worms, which immediately captured Josie's attention! For a two year old she did such a great job for the whole session, and by then, the worms took precedence and we wrapped up.
I can't wait to see how little Josie reacts once she gets to be a big sister, and Mom and Dad look so joyful at the addition of a new little one to their family. Looking forward to working with you all again very soon!
