Yara's Personality Session

All the Faces...

As any parent will tell you, a child's personality shows up early! We witness the inquisitive, the joyful, the sorrowful, and the angry looks as these teeny tiny humans begin to work out what the world is and how they fit in. It's a journey that takes us all a lifetime, but there's something precious about the emergence of these faces on a small and beautiful face. This is just what Personality Mini Sessions are meant to capture! For little Yara, her mom expressed a desire to stop and catch these fleeting moments with some professional photos. I was so excited!

I packed up all I had prepared for this in-home session. Personality Minis are a "quick" set up - a white or black backdrop, and a small stool (age depending) along with the studio light and backdrop stands - and the camera, of course. I traveled 30 minutes to arrive at the apartment (with a serendipitous parking spot right out front!), and after meeting Yara and her family, I got to work setting up in her bedroom.

Once I was ready, this little girl was shy for all of two minutes. The rest of the time we were chattering away, saying "hi" over and over, and giving hugs to her stuffed bears, who made a cameo in the photos! Her little expressions were too sweet! Toothy grins, big-eyed looks, silly smiles, and everything in between. By the end, we were fast friends, and I was already looking forward to pulling up the images to retouch her beautiful session!
